History

In 1996 a group of concerned pastors, youth pastors and individuals began creating culturally relevant summer camps for the teenagers in their denomination. Their desire was that youth be challenged with the gospel of Christ and biblical worldview teaching that would influence their life decisions. In 2000 this group became an independent non-profit youth ministry called AreaOne.

In 2002, Kiley Butler, a volunteer from the inception of the ministry became the first full time staff and dramatically increased the mission's size and scope. Most of the original volunteers that started AreaOne remain involved.

AreaOne has not wavered from these roots. Today we operate in multiple states creating youth camps, conferences and more. Our motto is to "inspire • train • mobilize." Our goals are to inspire teens to worship authentically, train them to live out a biblical worldview and finally to mobilize them to carry out the great commission to disciple the nations.

From the beginning, the vision of AreaOne has been to "support the local church by creating catalyst youth events that inspire, train and mobilize teenagers to know Christ and live every aspect of their lives from a biblical perspective."
